Information for Current Subscribers to The Hard Copy Supplies Journal

Will I still receive a hard copy of the Journal?
Once the Journal is online the hard copy version will no longer be available. You’ll be able to print articles out easily on the site.

When will I stop receiving the hard copy of the Journal?
March 2010 was the last printed issue of the Journal. In April 2010, you will receive an email with instructions on how to log in for access to the Journal from now on.

How will I get access to my online subscription?
If you are currently a subscriber to the Hard Copy Supplies Journal, we will pre-register you on the site and send you your user name and password. Your subscription will expire the same month as your original subscription.

If you are not a current subscriber, you can register on the site and pay to become a premium member that will give you access to all of the articles on the site for 12 months.

Will my online subscription go for the same period that I signed up for the hard copy subscription?
Yes, online subscriptions are renewable for 12 month periods, and if you are already a subscriber your expiration date will be the same as it was for the hard copy.

How do I renew my subscription?
You can renew your subscription yourself by going to www.journal.lyra.com/thelyraweb, or you can call Sandy Tobin at 617-454-2612.

What will my price be?
If you are an existing subscriber, we are giving you another year at the current subscription rate of $580 if you renew by May 28, 2010. If you are a new subscriber, your new subscription rate is $650. This single subscription now includes a free second seat.

For New and Renewing Subscribers

Does every online seat come with two users?
Individual subscribers get access for two users to the site. If you have five or more users interested in subscribing, it is more cost-effective to purchase a 5-seat license.

Will I have access to all of the news published during my subscription period?
Yes, you will have access to all of the news published during the active months of your subscription period and going back 90 days prior to the start of your subscription period.

What happens if my subscription lapses?
If your subscription lapses for more than 45 days from your expiration date, you will lose access to the news articles from the period of your original subscription.

How do I pay for my subscription?
You can pay online with a credit card through our secured site, or you can speak with Sandy Tobin at 617-454-2612 if you would like to be invoiced.

How do I get access to the Journal Archives?
When we launch the site in April 2010 we will not have the online Journal Archives available. However, we hope to make this available in the summer of 2010.

What if I am already and Journal Archive subscriber?
You will continue to receive the quarterly CD if you are an active Journal Archive subscriber.

Can I change the name on my subscription?
Yes, a user account can only be deactivated and reactivated 1 time per subscription period.

For Subscribers Who Want to Upgrade to Multi-Seat Licenses

Can I add seats after the initial seat license is purchased?
Yes, you can add seats at any time.

Can I add seats in any quantity or only in set quantities (i.e. 5 or 10 at a time)?
You can upgrade to one of our multi-seat packages which are for up to 5, 10, 25, 50, and 75 seats. We also have a worldwide enterprise license available which gives you unlimited seats for the site throughout your organization.

If I have a 5-seat license and I want to upgrade to a 10-seat license, will the seats all expire at the same time?
Yes, we can add 5 new seats for the period remaining on your original subscription. Then, when you renew, it will be for a 10-seat license.

Printing Tips

When I print an article, sometimes the chart and text is cut off. How can I get better print results?
As with many sites programmed in html and with printing from the internet in general, we are experiencing some issues with printing our information. We are working on formatting our news and articles in the most optimal way for good printing results. Here are some specific printing tips which may improve printing success from our site:
  • Upgrade to IE 7 or above.
  • Select Print Preview before printing to see how the page will look. If necessary, select the “shrink to size” or to make the content fit on the page.
  • If you have Adobe Professional, choose “Print to PDF” in your print browser. Once you have created the PDF, you can print the PDF.

Technical Questions

When I am using Windows Vista and IE 8 I saw some features that didn’t look quite right. Is there a fix for this?
Yes, just click the Compatibility View button at the right side of the Address box and the view should appear correctly.

Can I view this site using Mozilla FireFox?
Yes, but you will be asked to enter your user name and password credentials multiple times. The site is optimally viewed using Internet Explorer.

Are the articles available in PDF?
With the Journal Online, there is no separate PDF version of the articles, but all articles can be printed by using the Print feature, either individually by clicking on the print icon beside the title of the article, or you can use the Search function to search by keyword, date, etc. and then print all of the articles that meet your criteria. As well, as noted above in Printing Tips you can choose “Print to PDF” in your print browser for a single or group of articles you are interested in.
